One Small Step for bwStandard, One Giant Leap for SIX1XIS Genetics : We have LIFT OFF.

Within the past week we have had the pleasure of working with Dog Ear Marketing to put together a nice package for Grand Rapids based SIX1XIS Genetics. In the usual fashion, Katelyn Berkshire delivered the stunning looks, while bwStandard worked behind the scenes to put together a nice framework for a site in it’s infancy of success. Sure, it’s only a couple of pages now but as the company expands the site was made so it can scale with them, so can the hosting. No crazy rebuilds around here, let’s just move some things here, maybe some there. Versatility. We also use a very succinct plugin package to keep everything efficient and lightweight. Just what we need to keep the place secure, run fast, and be healthy.

Once everything was in place, we did some testing, and we did a few. One test is never indicative of anything other than a fluke. Oddly enough, the first test returned a solid 1.9s load time. NEW HIGH SCORE. A few more were run and on average the site loads in about 2-2.1s. These tests were run on gtmetrix.com, Vancouver server for anyone wanting to use the same measuring stick.

Even with the great full load time of 2s on average there are still a couple of options to possibly improve the load time. Is it worth the investment at this point? Not necessarily but at least we know there is still room to work.

What can’t we do? I’m not sure, I’d bet there’s something out there but I don’t want to find out what it is. Your dream is our product, let’s create a great project like this site together.
